A Quick Reference for High School Wrestling Officials
As officials is it important to remember that the safety of the wrestlers is the most important aspect of the job. Most coaches teach many styles of wrestling where moves that are perfectly acceptable, sometimes encouraged, are not legal in High School wrestling and are considered legal because of the risk that is involved. If at any time an official feels a move is dangerous, the official has not only the freedom, but the obligation to stop wrestling.
